Seattle Vacation


I haven't updated about our trip at all so here's a little run down.
The boys enjoyed stretching their legs during our layover in Denver. They crawled/ran all over the place. Luckily, there were few people around the gates we were waiting near.







We went down to the Seattle center to take the Monorail (which Liam really enjoyed) and had to snap a picture of our boys and the Spaceneedle.






















Liam got to ride the Carousel which was a first for him. The pole was terribly cold so I put my gloves on him. He thought it was pretty cool to ride the horse.







We spent Christmas Eve with dave's dad, step mom, step sisters and step nephew. Gabriel seemed to enjoy his first Christmas although he sat in my lap most of the time and watched Liam.
















We woke up Christmas morning at Dave's Grandma's cabin. Once again Liam and Gabriel got showered with attention and spoiled with toys. They had a lot of fun playing with their new toys and the dogs.



Then we headed to the mountains and spent a few days with Dave's mom and her puppy Jamie. We experienced a lot of snow!! When we got there after dark the first night we shoveled a path in. By the next morning enough snow had fallen to almost fill in the path we had made. Over the next couple days we got more snow and then the snow slid off the roof practically blocking us in. It was GREAT!














We ate dinner one night at the Crab Pot which was Wonderful! Dave's mom and sister joined us. They bring out all this amazing seafood and dump it out on the table.








We joined a group of friends for some Settlers of Catan which was a ton of fun and brought back memories of our Iowa BK (before kids) days.



Last Sat. I went to a baby shower for my friend from Iowa. It was great timing that they were home in Washington visiting family the same time we were and that I was there for her shower. This picture is Nikki, Melissa, Kelsy and I. GOOD FRIENDS!! I miss those girls.










Today we went to lunch with some aunts, Dave's mom and grandma. Liam sat next to his great grandma and she helps him eat his pizza.

BOY!! Liam is a big brother to a beautiful baby boy! Gabriel Asher was born at 8:55 PM on March 16th. He weighed 9lbs. 2.9oz and was 21 inches long. We were at church for a meeting with all the youth workers and after the meeting I (Kami) was having more intense contractions and just not feeling right. A mother of a couple of our high school girls offered to take me home with them and let me rest at their house while Dave stayed at church to run our Sunday night youth group. It wasn't long after arriving at their house that my water broke. I called for Dave to come pick me up and we headed to the hospital. It was slightly under 3 hours later that our little boy came into the world. It was quick and everything went smoothly. Gabriel got a 9 out of 10 on both his apgar tests which made us proud. A mother of 3 boys

I have to be honest in hopes that it will encourage you to pray for me. I now have a 5yo, 4yo and 2yo. I am over whelmed and had my first major break down today. I say "major" because I have actually had many breakdowns but this was the first with tears I just couldn't control. This is WAY harder then I thought it would be. Or maybe it's just that the "difficult things" I tried to prepare myself for aren't very tough at all. There are many things that I just wasn't prepared for and it's knocking me off my feet. The boys are acting like brothers. Yes, this sounds like a good thing. The issue? That means they fight. . . there's screaming, scratching, pushing and biting involved. It's not all the time but I have to watch them so things don't get out of hand. I have been so tired. I don't think it has anything to do with the jet lag anymore but more of just a physical issue I have struggled with since Gabriel was born 2 years ago. I a...

Stinky, Uncontrollable Moments

The boys and I were going to join Dave at Quest (middle school camp) in Olympia this weekend. Dave is the Quest director and although he'd be working and busy we were excited to be able to go and have a weekend away. So, why am I now sitting on my couch watching Ice Age with my family on Friday night instead of hanging out with middle schoolers at camp? Let me share the insane story with you. . .           We hit the road in our van and while driving over White Pass we had car trouble. . . bad enough that we couldn't drive the van any farther.           In the rain, Dave worked and worked to try and fix the belt that partially tore and then came off it's track. We didn't have cell service so we had no idea what to do.           Finally, a Good Samaritan stopped and offered us a ride to Naches (the closest town back towards Yakima). ...
