Stinky, Uncontrollable Moments

The boys and I were going to join Dave at Quest (middle school camp) in Olympia this weekend. Dave is the Quest director and although he'd be working and busy we were excited to be able to go and have a weekend away. So, why am I now sitting on my couch watching Ice Age with my family on Friday night instead of hanging out with middle schoolers at camp? Let me share the insane story with you. . .           We hit the road in our van and while driving over White Pass we had car trouble. . . bad enough that we couldn't drive the van any farther.           In the rain, Dave worked and worked to try and fix the belt that partially tore and then came off it's track. We didn't have cell service so we had no idea what to do.           Finally, a Good Samaritan stopped and offered us a ride to Naches (the closest town back towards Yakima). ...

Jesus Christ–what more could he have done for you?!

I've been thinking about those who don't believe in God, not just a god but THE God and it amazes me that even they were made in the image of God. When someone loves, gives, serves. . .you can see those glimpses of that image of who God is. They don't see it in themselves though. Regardless of whether or not your believe in Him, Sin causes us all the struggle. . . Selfishness, hatred. . . But once you can see God for who He truly is, how can you not desire to give your life back by living for him and loving and serving others?! I heard this story shared today and I was moved.
