Nothing. . .

No news yet, sorry. Still having irregular contractions and nothing else. We just keep trucking along hoping that something will happen soon. Keep praying that when it does happen it will be quick, easy and our little one will be healthy. Thanks for checking in.

Midwife appointment this morning

dilated to 2. . .that's about it. However, we went to walk the mall and I started having contractions every 5 minutes apart for probably 45 minutes or so, but they weren't strong enough to take my breath away or make me have to stop walking. Now, we're home and they are backing off a lot. So, who knows. . .

no news :-(

Well, contractions kind of ceased when I laid down for bed last night. Had a rough night but I think a lot of it was due to dreaming about having the baby. I also had an upset stomach and some other not so fun thingsgoing on throughout the night. Too much to share. There are many signs this could happen soon but who knows. Since I have been up this morning there have been no more comtractions. :-( I'll keep you posted.

10 days till due date

So I have had a lot more (what I think are real) contractions the past 4 days. Well most days they don't get remotely regular till evening then they are about 15 minutes apart only last for only an hour or so. Well, today they started around 3ish and have been almost regularly 15 minutes apart up till now (9pm). They are more intense today then they have been the last few days. We went to my parents for pizza tonight and Dave put our bags in the car just in case. He's a little more paranoid/nervous etc then I am. Most of my family was there tonight and I told them about all the contractions and they were all saying things like, "We expect to hear news tomorrow morning." I have no idea if this is leading anywhere any time soon. With Liam I had this sort of thing for two days before he came. My midwife keeps reassuring me that it is not likely I will have all the lead up contractions for so long like last time. So, that gives me hope that it could be very soon.

Still pregnant

Image
I know, not a big surprize. Two weeks till my due date which sometimes feel so close but I know that it's not a gaurentee that I will have the baby even close to the due date. Liam came on his DD but that's a 4% chance. I hope that this kiddo decides to come early rather then later. I am sleeping ok at night. I've been 1 cm dilated for over two weeks now but no other signs that it's coming anytime soon. I am feeling so huge! I have already gained 10 pounds more this time then last time but I am not sure where all the weight is. When I was pregnant with Liam I grew out of my pants in the last couple months so I knew I gained a lot in my thighs. This time, I don't know when it's going. Maybe it means I'll have a bigger baby, I hope not. Liam was 8.1 lbs and that is big enough in my opinion. I suppose it's not something I can control so I take what I get. I feel like we have so much to do to still get ourselves ready for this baby. But none of it will be th...

pediatric cardiologist update

Sorry this is a little late but here's the update from Feb 14th: 34/35 weeks and 2 days We went in to see the pediatric cardiologist today. The doctor was so personable and nice. I felt really comfortable with him. So, onto the baby's heart. . . He called it "Premature Atrial Contractions" (PAC's) What is happening is every so often the heart beats one beat a bit sooner then it normally does which means the heart doesn't pump as much blood for that beat but it makes up for it with the next beat which is nice and strong. So, on average the heart is pumping out as much blood as it should. the heart is also the right size, in the right place and all the chambers looked fine. So, why is it beating irregular every so often? The doctor called it "Windsock Anearysm of Atrial Septum" or "Redundant Septal Tissue". Neither of these things are actual diagnosed things so we probably wouldn't find anything by googling it. They call it a "windso...

Midwife Appointment Today

33/34 weeks 6 days pregnant today. Guess what?!?!? Our baby is HEAD DOWN! Had another midwife appointment today. She felt around and couldn't tell the position. She said it felt a lot different. So, she did a internal exam (fun!) and was pretty sure she felt a head AND I am 1cm dialated. Since she wasn't 100% she took us upstairs and did a quick ultra sound. Sure enough the baby was head down. WOW, the U/S looks so different at 35 weeks vs. 22 weeks. The baby is so developed and looks so BIG. I am not a huge fan of numerous U/Ss throughout the pregnancy but I gave in. It was fun to see the baby again. We got a few pictures and I will post them tomorrow. Liam got to watch the TV screen and he was mezmerized! He watched so intently. I don't know if it helped him understand or made him more confused. Another cute thing was as soon as we walked through the automatic doors of the building Liam said, "Baby Heart!" He knew we were in the place where we hear the baby'...

7 weeks left (we hope)

So, according to my midwife I am 33 weeks pregnant. Only 7 weeks left. It's gone fast but I am very ready right NOW to meet our baby. I know a little better what to expect since this is our second baby so I don't feel as nervous. I am just ready. 7 weeks isn't long but it feel like it will be. I feel so HUGE! Dave called me a Baby Apartment yesterday. :-) I just don't see how I will have room for almost two more months of this baby growing. I will end up being GYNORMOUS! (is that a word? if it is, I don't think I spelled it correctly) My belly measures about a half a week ahead. Who knows what that means. I hope the baby comes early, but not too early. A couple prayer needs. . . the baby is trasverse breach which means it's butt is towards my back and it's head is on one side and the limbs on the other side. It's not head down which would mean c-section. There's time to get the baby to turn head down but it *should* already be by this point. So, pray...

A New Year

We're over a week into January already. Time flies. I am sitting here typing this while Dave is busy at work and Liam is napping. I should be napping too. I feel pretty good though after being blessed with a good night's sleep which lacked in aches and pains. Praise the Lord for good sleep. We got our selves a memory foam topper for our bed and I sure am hoping that helps for the remainder of this pregnancy. We haven't tried it yet because it has to take shape over 24-48 hours. Maybe tonight. :-) I am 30 weeks along today according to my midwife's date, March 18th. I personally think it will be more like the 25th. We'll see. This pregnancy has been different in so many ways. I have had a lot more "issues" this time. I would share but it's not pleasant stuff. I also had morning sickness longer but less intense. The pains started sooner this time and are much worse then last time. I was SOOO emotional in the first trimester. All I can say is. . .Poor Dav...
