We have grass!! . . .and a couple pictures for fun

Image
Do you see it?!?!? It's like we just got a + sign on a pregnancy test. We are thrilled to see these little blades of grass popping out all over the yard. Very exciting! I know it is really nothing like finding out you're going to have a baby but we feel kind of silly for being so happy over some grass. teehee! My little man is so stinkin' cute! I absolutely love how his little ears stick out. And his dimples. . .ahh! Tummy Time for all three boys!

What does the rooster say?

Image
If you were to ask Liam this question he would say, "Rocka Rocka dooooo" If you watch closely when he gets to the "doo" part you can see his tongue quickly moving right to left. It's pretty cute! He calls them "Woosters" and he recently started calling chickens "Chicken bawks". He has a Baby Einstein video called "On the Farm". From this video he got introduced to the rooster and that it is different then the chicken. At the beginning of the video the rooster is crowing (or whatever you call it). The first couple times Liam watched this video he said, "Chicken Bawk is screaming!" It was hysterical!

trouble in the neighborhood

While we were building our house that we're now living in there was a shooting on the street over from us (the street we come in on before getting to our street). That was a bummer to hear while currently living in and soon moving out of a neighborhood where a man was shot during a drug deal gone bad. We also had lived on a street in Iowa where one Sat. morning we were woken by 12 cop cars on our street and a man being arrested a couple houses down. This time we thought we were moving to a better area. Anyway, we just saw on the news that a young guy excaped from the youth jail and was caught breaking into a house in our neighborhood. The cops had their guns drawn and brought him out in cuffs. He looked noraml enough but it's still scary. I don't know if he was armed or what he was capable of. What if it had been our house that he tried to break into? Thank you Lord for protecting us!

playing "mommy"

A couple mornings ago Liam came into my room while I was still in bed. I was so tired having gone to bed way too late the night before. I didn't even open my eyes but he came to my side of the bed and whispered, "Mama taking a rest." He went back to the door and as he left the room and closed the door behind him I heard him say, "Have a good sleep." That's what I say to him when I put him down for a nap. Silly boy!

They are growing up!

4 Days ago I put my finger in Gabriel's mouth and there were TWO TEETH popping out! I knew this stage was coming but it came so fast. Liam didn't cut teeth till around 6 months and Gabriel is only 5. We've also introduced fruit. He likes the tastes but doesn't yet know how to keep it in an swallow well. Every bite goes in and comes out at least once before he swallows it. :-) Liam is going potty on his own now. He's wearing big boy underwear around the house and when he feels like he needs to go he runs to the bathroom, pulls down his undies, goes potty, empties the bowl into the big toilet and he's done. If he leaves his undies around his ankles he can pull them back up but I'm still trying to get him it leave them there. He likes to take them all the way off. The only wet diapers I am changing are his over night and nap diapers. Otherwise he's not wetting himself all day long. YEA! I know we still have to work on it when there are distractions, like nu...

Nicnames

Dave gave Gabriel a new nicname. G-Funk-a-lisious . I know, I know, but this is Dave we're talking about. Liam has now started using Gabriel's many nicnames and this one is by far the funniest to hear him say! The two of the other commenly used nicnames are G-Man and Geepers. So, today Liam sits down to play next to Gabriel who's having tummy time and Liam says, "Hi, Man". And while we're on the topic of Liam calling people things other then their real names I should mention that yesterday when I handed him his juice he said, "Thanks, Bud." LOL!

Sorry it's been a while

Life's been a little crazy. We were out of town on a student leadership retreat for three days, I've been busy working on an anniversary gift for my parents, we've been hardcore potty training, laying our patio. So I have had little time to do anything else. This was during the SLT Retreat (Don't worry it's just a paintball gun!) We went to the cabin that belongs to the family of the boy holding the gun. It is over looking a lake. It wasn't as restful as I had hoped it would be. We left Liam with our pastor's family but taking Gabriel was unexpectantly difficult. It wasn't G-man's fault. He's a light sleeper when he's not in his own bed and to my surprize (sarcastic) teenagers aren't sensitive to a sleeping baby. They woke him numerous times during his naps and once after he was asleep for the night. UGH! It stresses a mother out! Potty training is going well. I think he should have it down soon. He pretty much spends his days at home nak...

Potty Training

We are making a break through! Yesterday Liam was running around the house naked and all of a sudden he ran into the living room (where his potty chair was) sat down, and peed! ON HIS OWN!! He KNEW he needed to go. We were all so excited and he kept running around saying, "Mom SOOO happy!" He knew I was proud of him. So, everyday this week he's gone poop or pee at least once. And 50% of those times he's told me he needed to go. So, I know we're getting there. I just really started trying to train him last Saturday so I think that's good progress in less then a week. Hopefully it'll be quick and he should be trained soon.
