pediatric cardiologist update
Sorry this is a little late but here's the update from Feb 14th: 34/35 weeks and 2 days We went in to see the pediatric cardiologist today. The doctor was so personable and nice. I felt really comfortable with him. So, onto the baby's heart. . . He called it "Premature Atrial Contractions" (PAC's) What is happening is every so often the heart beats one beat a bit sooner then it normally does which means the heart doesn't pump as much blood for that beat but it makes up for it with the next beat which is nice and strong. So, on average the heart is pumping out as much blood as it should. the heart is also the right size, in the right place and all the chambers looked fine. So, why is it beating irregular every so often? The doctor called it "Windsock Anearysm of Atrial Septum" or "Redundant Septal Tissue".
