Life after high school
As someone who's worked in youth ministry for over 7 years I've seen a lot. I think the hardest thing for me to deal with is when these young people leave our high school youth group to move onto college and within their first year of college they become someone I can't recognize. I don't know what the problem is. Are there too many high school students just hanging onto what their parents teach because it's expected and easy? Then college life comes along and there's a world they have never seen before. What goes through their minds when they start talking and acting in ways that they never did the 18 years before this day? I know my place is to come along side of them when I can as high school students and try to teach what I know. Then it's their choice after that. Somehow I feel responsible though. . . it's hard to let go.
