Liam's upcoming 3rd Birthday

Image
Liam has become very interested in dinosaurs. So, we thought we'd go with the dino theme for his 3rd Birthday which is less then a month away now. (Oh man, my baby is growing up!)We wanted to do something a little different then the normal sheet cake from the store. We couldn't find a stand up dino cake pan (probably because it wouldn't be sturdy enough to stand up) but we found a patern to make a cake that I think will turn out very cute! Here's the picture of the cake and the pattern.

How are the resolutions coming?

Well, the scrapbooks haven't been touched yet. I know, I know! I have all eyar to get caught up but with over 20 pages to do I have to do about 2 per month which isn't a ton until I get behind month after month. I have plans (although not official and only in my head) to get together with my friend Kristin do scrapbook. I should be able to get a few pages done. I think the big step is going to be finding pictures and getting them printed. I better get on that! Eeek! We've stuck to the meal plan pretty good. We've moved a couple meals around and skipped some due to unexpected things like having the student leaders over for dinner. But otherwise, it's been great to KNOW we have all the ingredients for a recipe and not have to think about what to make. We need to get our butts in gear and start working on our adoption paper work (the dossier which goes to Ethiopia). We're waiting for approval from the US Citizen Imigration Services but once that comes in we can sen...

A New Year!

Image
It's 2009 now. 2008 was full of wonderful things but also many difficult and painful things. We've come out of it better people and stronger. Dave and I are closer and our marriage only gets more solid with the struggles we have. We by no means look forward to hardships but we know that the Lord allows them for reasons. But along with those difficult things there are always many glimmers and things that bring us joy. Gabriel! Yes, our second son joined our family in 2008 and now he's almost 1. Praise the Lord for two beautiful boys! So, now that it's 2009 what's new? *Well, Dave and I started the new year off by getting our pantry stocked up and did all our shopping for the rest of the month. We set up a meal schedule which is exciting and has made it easy to be ahead of the game. This was a new years resolution for me to have monthly meal plans and get all the shopping done in one trip. *I made a resolution to get caught up on my scrapbooking by the end of this yea...

New Glasses

Image
With all the time I had in Seattle you'd think I would have posted more but I didn't If you're interested in how the last few days of our trip were and the travel home visit my picture blog http://kamis2009.blogspot.com/ I have an appointment this Monday to get my perscription filled for eye glasses. While we were in Seattle I checked out Costco's frames and found a pair I liked. The fake lenses in them have the brand and price printed on them so just ignore that. Anyway, they'll take some getting used to. Maybe some day I will go to contacts but for now I will wear glasses. What do you think of them?

Seattle Vacation

Image
I haven't updated about our trip at all so here's a little run down. The boys enjoyed stretching their legs during our layover in Denver. They crawled/ran all over the place. Luckily, there were few people around the gates we were waiting near. We went down to the Seattle center to take the Monorail (which Liam really enjoyed) and had to snap a picture of our boys and the Spaceneedle. Liam got to ride the Carousel which was a first for him. The pole was terribly cold so I put my gloves on him. He thought it was pretty cool to ride the horse. We spent Christmas Eve with dave's dad, step mom, step sisters and step nephew. Gabriel seemed to enjoy his first Christmas although he sat in my lap most of the time and watched Liam. We woke up Christmas morning at Dave's Grandma's cabin. Once again Liam and Gabriel got showered with attention and spoiled with toys. They had a lot of fun playing with their new toys and the dogs. Then we headed to the mountains and spent a few ...
