Running Diary Part 5

Image
I weighed myself a few days ago and I weighed the most I ever have when NOT pregnant since I got married. The past couple of weeks I have been eating a lot of eggs and veggies and trying to snack on healthier stuff. Within the past 6 days I have run 5 times, one mile each day. I weighed myself this evening and I am down 8 pounds since my last weigh in! Not sure if it's a fluke, we shall see. But now I am only 8 pounds away from my lowest weight since married which, crazy as it may seem, happened the summer I got pregnant with my second. Dave and I are ordering the Advocare 24 day Challenge kits and I expect that we should be starting them in the next week and a half. The first 10 days is a cleanse and the last half is the "Max Phase" which gives your body the best tools it needs to achieve your weight loss goals. Our friends did it and each lost about 10 pounds in those 24 days. I have a friend doing it now and in her first 3 days she's already down 9. Now, I know I ...

Father's Day weekend - Fishing

Liam wanted to hold his fish but got scales all over his hands. He thought it was awesome! Gabriel wouldn't even tough his. :-) Dave's dad Paul and step mom Nancy came down from Seattle for Father's Day weekend and took the boys fishing. Liam caught a night little trout and Gabriel caught a HUGE one!

The transition

We've been here two weeks. We're feeling very settled and comfortable in our apartment. We have some chaos in our bed room until we get another dresser but otherwise we feel like the unpacking is done. It feels so good and over the past couple days we've started hanging pictures which makes it feel that much better. It's HOME! I got our third room organized and have a little scrap-booking area now. I can't wait to jump back in! We set up our treadmill in there too so we can get back into running. Our ants are gone now but we're nervous to put food (even though all well sealed) back in the pantry. They come out and don't even touch the ants traps. If they come back we'll have to try something new. We took a few pictures early on in the unpacking so you can get an idea of what it was like. This is the kitchen: This picture of the Living room is a few days in and is nothing compared to what it looked like when we first stepped in the apartment after the truc...

Yakima Residents

We had a great, smooth trip here and it took about two and a half days. The boys did great and I was so proud of them. Dave had to drive the truck with the trailer carrying our second car which meant I was driving the van with 3 little boys. I was nervous about it because in the past I could only drive about 2 hours before getting drowsy. I took two 5 hour energy drinks each day and that did the trick! I didn't have any struggle staying awake which was a huge answer to prayer. The truck was slow but we still made great time with few stops. We arrived in Yakima around 1pm Pacific time. We ran a few errands and got our lease for our apartment signed. We had dinner with a family from the church and stayed the night in their basement. It was nice to have a home cooked meal and a comfortable place to stay (much better then a hotel!). Friday morning we got our apartment keys and with the help of some of our new church family we got the truck unloaded and the apartment snugly filled with ...
