sore muscles
So, I have been doing some working out the past couple days and I am sore today. It's a good sore but sore nonetheless. It got me thinking about the discipline of spending time with God. If you've been out of the habit chances are you aren't eating healthy and getting little if any exercise at all. When we don't spend time with God for awhile we get used to the feeling much like when we habitually eat junk. But once you spend a couple days straight with your Savior there's a couple different things that happen. First, you get sore. . .I mean, the sin in your life becomes evident. You see things a lot more clearly. Second, since you see things more clearly and are spending that time with God you have a desire to change things for the better, like wanting to eat healthier to compliment the new exercise routine. Thirdly, you feel so much better! Even though your heart might get "sore" from the conviction that might kick in you are happier and more fulfilled. Your whole being just feels so much more like it is meant to feel.
So. . .lesson? Spend time with God. It's worth it.
