I have to admit I am a bit nervous about the Seahawks' game this Sat. again the Green Bay Packers. the Pack ended the regular season 13-3. One of those loses was to the #1 team in the NFC, and another was a week 16 meaningless game against Chicago. Seattle finished the season 10-6 after an unsettling 4-4 start. The Seahawks were forced to abandon their powerhouse running attack and rely on Matt Hasselbeck's arm to carry them to a 6-2 record for the second half of the season.(those two losses came after the Hawks had clinched the NFC West title) But it's playoff time and the Seahawks are 1-0. Only mildly comforting considering the Hawks will be entering the frozen tundra that is Lambeau field. Weather.com forecasts cloudy skies and a high temp. of 30 degrees. Mild temperatures for Wisconsin in January. Weather is not the biggest problem for the Seahawks, the biggest problem wears #4 on his jersey and began playing in the NFL when I was in 5th grade. I'm convinced that the Green Bay Packers' hopes of a win this Sat. are riding on the shoulders of their Quarterback. And If their is anyone you want to lead your team in the Playoffs it's #4. Brett Farve has that intangible quality that you can't coach, you can't train for, you can't learn. It's the "it", and he has it. If the Packers are down by 6 with 1:30 to go, you just know he is about to make something happen. But the Seahawks aren't some JV practice squad. They showed the Washington Redskins that they know how to play in the playoffs. The Hawk's defence put a hurt on the Skins offence and picked them off twice for touchdowns. Matt is playing as well as he ever has and the rushing attack is bringing the Seahawks offence back into balance. One thing I am sure of is that anything can happen in the NFL playoffs. No matter what the statistics say, no matter what the sports reporters predict, every team has a chance to win any given week. That's why I love this game. So I'll be sitting in front of my TV this Saturday to watch the beauty, the majesty that is Seahawks football.

It really was a sad game to watch. We watched the game into the 3rd quarter. We were supposed to be waiting for Mac and Mindy Sauerlander to arrive after a memorial game and we were going to watch the TiVoed game together. But we just couldn't wait. But after 1/2 time the idea of possibly having to watch again was too much. Thankfully for us (sad for them) mac and mindy were unable to come because of a sick kid. But oh so sad to end the year like that.

BOY!! Liam is a big brother to a beautiful baby boy! Gabriel Asher was born at 8:55 PM on March 16th. He weighed 9lbs. 2.9oz and was 21 inches long. We were at church for a meeting with all the youth workers and after the meeting I (Kami) was having more intense contractions and just not feeling right. A mother of a couple of our high school girls offered to take me home with them and let me rest at their house while Dave stayed at church to run our Sunday night youth group. It wasn't long after arriving at their house that my water broke. I called for Dave to come pick me up and we headed to the hospital. It was slightly under 3 hours later that our little boy came into the world. It was quick and everything went smoothly. Gabriel got a 9 out of 10 on both his apgar tests which made us proud. A mother of 3 boys

I have to be honest in hopes that it will encourage you to pray for me. I now have a 5yo, 4yo and 2yo. I am over whelmed and had my first major break down today. I say "major" because I have actually had many breakdowns but this was the first with tears I just couldn't control. This is WAY harder then I thought it would be. Or maybe it's just that the "difficult things" I tried to prepare myself for aren't very tough at all. There are many things that I just wasn't prepared for and it's knocking me off my feet. The boys are acting like brothers. Yes, this sounds like a good thing. The issue? That means they fight. . . there's screaming, scratching, pushing and biting involved. It's not all the time but I have to watch them so things don't get out of hand. I have been so tired. I don't think it has anything to do with the jet lag anymore but more of just a physical issue I have struggled with since Gabriel was born 2 years ago. I a...

Stinky, Uncontrollable Moments

The boys and I were going to join Dave at Quest (middle school camp) in Olympia this weekend. Dave is the Quest director and although he'd be working and busy we were excited to be able to go and have a weekend away. So, why am I now sitting on my couch watching Ice Age with my family on Friday night instead of hanging out with middle schoolers at camp? Let me share the insane story with you. . .           We hit the road in our van and while driving over White Pass we had car trouble. . . bad enough that we couldn't drive the van any farther.           In the rain, Dave worked and worked to try and fix the belt that partially tore and then came off it's track. We didn't have cell service so we had no idea what to do.           Finally, a Good Samaritan stopped and offered us a ride to Naches (the closest town back towards Yakima). ...
